ABOUT THE FILM
A short film that gives voice to the unheard.
The Silent Plan is a 13-minute short film that begins with the promise of technology and unfolds into a deeply human story. It follows four deaf young people who record the voices of their loved ones, hoping that one day they may hear them. When such a technological possibility finally arrives, what they encounter is not just joy—but a confrontation with their past, with the unspoken pressures of society, and with the contradictions within themselves.
This film is not just about the deaf experience—it speaks to all who have ever felt invisible. Inspired by real lives and told with honesty and care, The Silent Plan invites the audience into a story where silence becomes a powerful mirror.

THE MESSAGE
Silence is not absence;
it is another form of existence.
The Silent Plan challenges the audience to step outside the familiar and see the world through a different lens. Within the world of the deaf, there is not only silence—but also hope, resilience, love, and the search for identity. The film aims to make the unseen visible by portraying the social invisibility that many deaf individuals live with every day.
While technology continues to offer humanity new possibilities, these are not always equally accessible. At its core, the film tells the emotional story of a group of young people who try to hold on to hope in the face of this inequality. It also brings to light the expressive power of sign language, showing that silence is a language of its own.
This is not a film made just to be watched—it is made to be felt, understood, and reflected upon.

THE TEAM
Built on empathy,
driven by experience.
The creative team behind The Silent Plan combines technical skill with an intimate connection to the story being told. The two lead actors, Berk Aydın and Elif ÇakırtaÅŸ, are themselves deaf—bringing deep emotional truth to their performances. They are joined by Merve Ayaz, a professional sign language interpreter and educator, whose presence on and off screen reinforces the authenticity of the narrative. Mehmet Åžah Çelik, a seasoned theatre actor, contributes further depth to the ensemble.
The supporting cast enriches the film with sincerity and heart, while the crew behind the camera approaches every detail with precision and care. At the helm is writer and director Ömer Yıldırım, who uses cinema not just to tell a story—but to ask an essential question: What does it truly mean to hear?
